Passion’s new album, White Flag, features the title track, which showcases the ever-reliable Chris Tomlin. The evergreen worship leader has never sounded so passionate as he sings about surrendering to God. I, for one, appreciate White Flag for its more masculine leanings. We rarely get these kinds of songs, the ones that talk about rebelling and opposition, about spiritual warfare, about giving God His due. I think White Flag will end up becoming Passion’s first-ever Top 10 hit on Christian AC. Go, Passion!
WHITE FLAG Lyrics
Passion featuring Chris Tomlin
The battle rages on
As storms and tempests roar
We cannot win this fight
Inside our rebel hearts
We’re laying down our weapons now
We raise our white flag
We surrender all to You
All for You
We raise our white flag
The war is over
Love has come
Your love has won
Here on this holy ground
You made a way for peace
Laying your body down
You took our rightful place
This freedom song is marching on
Chorus
We raise our white flag
We surrender all to You, all for You
We raise our white flag: the war is over
Love has come, Your love has won
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
We lift the cross, lift it high, lift it high
