Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Rebecca St. James has released a new single, Shine Your Glory Down, the carrier single of an upcoming worship CD, I Will Praise You, out April 5, 2011 on Provident Label Group. St. James’ Shine Your Glory Down is one of the most added songs at Christian AC this week, scoring adds at a few radio stations while working to increase more airplay. The newly engaged St. James, who is most well-known for her single God, has sold over two million copies of her albums; she is also an accomplished author and actress. While I’m admittedly not that into St. James, my cousin-in-law Joemel is a huge fan, and sent my wife and me some of her CDs, including God; I liked her strong, powerful voice. I also enjoyed – really enjoyed! – her take on the VeggieTales theme song in the Veggietales Rocks! CD, so color me impressed. With Shine Your Glory Down, well, hopefully St. James will once again prove herself relevant. I’ll bet Christian CHR will be more open to this sound than Christian AC, but we’ll wait and see.
