(For your listening pleasure, this blog post contains streams of Maroon 5′s Makes Me Wonder and David Crowder Band’s Turkish Delight. GannsDeen.com does not offer mp3′s for download.)

Maroon 5′s Makes Me Wonder just rocketed 64-1 on the Billboard Hot 100. That’s the biggest jump to #1 in history. It beats the previous record holder, Kelly Clarkson’s A Moment Like This.

I never would’ve guessed in a million years that Maroon 5 – of all bands! – would top the Hot 100, and in this fashion. That just blows my mind. It’s amazing what is possible with the digital age. I’m sure it is only a matter of time before this record is broken as well.

By the way, if you liked Makes Me Wonder‘s funky retro sound, you’ve got to listen to David Crowder Band’s Turkish Delight, off the album Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia. Specifically, I’ll bet Kim will enjoy this. ;)

Elsewhere on the Billboard Hot 100′s Top 10, Season Four American Idol champ Carrie Underwood also makes her own splash, debuting at #6 with I’ll Stand By You, an exclusive iTunes download off the American Idol Gives Back TV special. Two rungs below her? Season One winner Kelly Clarkson’s Never Again, carrier single off her third album, My December. Yessir, the Billboard charts are fun again!

I love it! I have no idea who the David Crowder Band is, but my foot was a-tapping and my head was a-bopping when I was a-blaring its music into my ears while a-typing on my battered laptop.

Combined to that – I like it’s album’s title, too, “Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia.” But, please enlighten me – what does Turkey and its delights have to do with C.S. Lewis and Narnia???

This is my first time to hear Maroon 5′s new song, too! Adam Levine is totally H-O-T-T, hott! The new album hasn’t even been released yet, and you’ve already got the first single here! My hat’s off to you, Ganns Deen. The song’s a bit more funky than M5′s previous ones, but their signature thump-a-thump rhythm’s still there. Oh, and did I mention Adam Levine’s H-O-T-T, hott?!
