A last hurrah, maybe?

A last hurrah, maybe?

Updated! Click ‘More’ to read the full entry.

In February, I hit the big 3-0. No huge regrets, really, other than perhaps allowing myself to pack on a few more pounds that I would’ve liked. ;)

One thing, though, that I’d always wanted to do, but never really pursued, was some kind of interest in theater. I imagine I’d be good at it – I love to sing and act, and let’s face it, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone more melodramatic – but it never occurred to me to join the theater groups in high school or college, despite finding myself thrust into lead or vital supporting roles during class activities and inter-class presentations.

I had pretty much given up on that dream, when I received this little press release in my email:

Audio: Jennifer Hudson shines in “It’s All Over”

It’s All Over, a pre-release from the upcoming Dreamgirls OST! This is spectacular!!

Dang it, Jennifer Hudson, you sang this OUT! Show ‘em how it’s done, and write up that Academy Award speech, woman! (Looking for Jennifer’s Golden Globe award speech? Click right here.)

Sung with Beyonce Knowles (Deena), Anika Noni Rose (Lorrell), Jayme Foxx (Curtis), and Keith Robinson (CC).

By the way, I just read on Wikipedia that Diana Ross may be lobbying the Academy to deny any Oscars to Dreamgirls. Good luck, Miss Ross. Every gay man in America is going to make sure Jennifer Hudson wins that Oscar, especially since she’s getting it portraying the character representing Florence Ballard. What goes around comes around, Miss Thang.

Kevin Federline, you are a cad

Is this report to be believed? If so, Kevin Federline, you, Sir, are a cad, a scum of the earth, and not a gentleman.

No man who ever loves his wife would dare put her through something like this. In your attempt to gain street cred, perhaps, but it takes a lot of balls (and gall) for a man to do something like this, and ironically, any man who does something like this is, in my opinion, completely ball-less.

Glad you signed that pre-nup, Brit. It’s a shame you married someone who doesn’t respect you and everything you’ve worked so hard for. You’re too young to have gone through two divorces.

Guilty Pleasure VOTW: Red High Heels

I can’t help it. Presenting this week’s guilty pleasure, Red High Heels by… are you ready… Kellie Pickler!

Her debut album, Small-Town Girl, entered the Billboard Country Albums chart at #1. Take that, Faith Hill. Lost the Best Female Vocalist of the Year award at the CMAs to Carrie Underwood, and now the latest country femme from the Idol juggernaut debuts at #1 while Butterflies couldn’t manage to debut at the top.
